Andrew Stimpson

Andrew Stimpson is the Head of European Banks Research at KBW in London where he leads the firm’s top-down sector strategy. With a career in European bank equity research spanning over two decades, he has built a reputation for navigating complex regulatory and technological landscapes, including collaborating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during the financial crisis.

Prior to rejoining KBW in 2020, Andrew spent a distinguished six-year period at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he contributed to the team’s four-year streak as the #1 ranked European banks research team by Institutional Investor. Having begun his career at KBW in 2005 with an early focus that included the CEE markets, he now oversees research across the UK and Continental European banks, providing institutional investors with critical insights into sector-wide strategy and cross-border banking dynamics.
