Are we TOP? Sure, we are! For the sixth consecutive year! As the only bank in Slovenia

In Slovenia, companies priding themselves on the prestigious Top Employer certificate can be counted on the fingers of one hand. For the sixth consecutive year, NLB is one of them.

International independent Top Employers Institute has once again awarded us with the prestigious certificate that companies can earn with excellent HR practices and development programs for their employees. NLB became the first Slovenian company and the only bank to receive this certificate in 2016, however, to remain in the company of the best employers in the world based on the Top Employers Institute assessment, is not an easy task. In order for the companies to retain this title, they need to develop and upgrade their people practices year by year. Therefore, in the last year NLB has focused on the employees’ work-life balance, personal development, training, etc., and in particular on organising work in the way to ensure a safe work environment to the employees in the times of dire health circumstances.

“Top Employer certificate is not a reward, but the final step in the evaluation of a company’s HR practices and processes, and in particular our commitment to the existing and future employees to offer them an exceptional work environment full of challenges and opportunities to grow and achieve success,” said   Vesna Vodopivec, general manager of Human Resources and Organisation Development.

NLB will continue to ensure an even more stimulating work environment also in the future. Projects are already underway in the area of improving HR practices, change of organisational culture and process efficiency, and considerable attention is paid to employees’ development. We are very proud, among other things, that shortly they will get the possibility to join online training courses provided by an external international provider offering over 4,000 various courses, as well as to work from home regularly, therefore not in the circumstances affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, which will make them easier to balance life and work.

“Let me add that the activities relating to talent management, remuneration, training, employees’ mobility, etc. are being carried out at the level of the bank as well as the entire NLB Group. Our goal is to become the best employer in the SE Europe, where we operate on six markets, and to raise the awareness of NLB and NLB Group, which offer exceptional challenges, acquisition of competitive knowledge and skills, personal development, numerous benefits for the employees from the set of Family-Friendly Company measures, and above all, the employer’s concern for each and every employee,” also added the general manager of Human Resources and Organisation Development in NLB.

Through a complex assessment procedure Top Employers Institute establishes how efficient companies are in different HR practices. The certificate is granted to companies providing excellent work conditions for their employees, enabling them numerous possibilities for development at all levels of organisation, and striving for continuous improvement in the HR area.
