This Year’s Call for the NLB Youth Sports Project is Open

The holidays are behind us, and children have already stepped into the new school year – and with that, back onto playgrounds, into gyms, stadiums, and other sports grounds. Autumn however is also the time when NLB traditionally invites sports clubs to take part in the NLB Youth Sports project, which for the eleventh year in a row supports clubs across Slovenia in working with young athletes.

At NLB, we are one of the biggest supporters and promoters of Slovenian sport – not only top-level sport, but also parasport, recreational sport, and especially children’s sports. We are particularly proud that the project is expanding beyond Slovenia’s borders – this year we are introducing it in all markets where the NLB Group is present.

We believe that sport is not just movement. It is education, community building, and an investment in the future. Through sport, we encourage young people to step away from screens and return to fields, playgrounds, snow, and gyms. There they learn perseverance, respect, and the importance of achieving goals together. The NLB Youth Sports project is socially responsible, but at the same time development-oriented – as we believe that sport helps shape hardworking, fair, and responsible individuals.

Every year, more than 60 clubs and over 10,000 young athletes join the project, training in various disciplines – from football, handball, alpine skiing, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, to biathlon.

In the 2025/2026 season, we will once again support clubs that are systematically working with young people and share our vision. If you are active in one of the above-mentioned sports and would like additional financial support, we invite you to apply.

Applications are open until September 30, 2025. More information can be found here
