NLB Youth Sports Project: A Thread Connecting 79 Slovenian Clubs and 11,500 Children in the 2025/2026 Season

Sports is a school for life. At NLB, we fully recognize this and believe in the power of movement, perseverance, and community. Therefore, for the eleventh consecutive year, we are launching the NLB Youth Sports project – an initiative supporting sports clubs across Slovenia that work with young people.

In the 2025/2026 season, we will support 79 clubs operating in seven sports disciplines – football, handball, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, ski jumping, and skiing – across 56 towns throughout Slovenia. We are continuing our partnership with 58 clubs, while 21 are joining the project for the first time. Together, we will enable more than 11,500 children to grow in an environment that promotes active living and a healthy future.

And that’s not all: the project is expanding beyond Slovenia’s borders to all markets in the region where the NLB Group operates, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Kosovo, where clubs working with young people are also joining the initiative.

The NLB Youth Sports project is not just about supporting sports clubs – it is a thread that connects local communities, children, coaches, and the values we build together. It is wonderful to see the project growing, both here at home and in the region where NLB Group members operate, and to witness its positive impact on the development of local communities, and especially on young people. The values they cultivate through sports – values such as teamwork, respect, and responsibility – stay with them for life.
Andrej Krajner, Director of Brand and Communications at NLB Group

In addition to financial support for the clubs, we will help young people develop financial literacy and guide them toward responsible financial decisions. Through the project, they will meet their sports idols, and we will cheer them on every step of the way. Furthermore, through the NLB Sports Academy, we will provide club leadership with access to additional knowledge and opportunities for experience sharing, supporting their everyday work with youth.
