ESG
ESG

Which ESG pillar does your project or organization support? (You can find more information about ESG below.)
This field is required.

What does ESG stand for?

ESG is an acronym referring to the three key dimensions of sustainability: E – Environmental, S – Social, G – Governance. Together, these three pillars play a crucial role in assessing an organization's sustainability performance. ESG is the collective term for a set of standards used to evaluate organizations based on their impact on the environment, their relationship with society, and the quality of their governance practices.

Let's take a closer look at what each of these pillars means:

Environmental (E)

The Environmental pillar of ESG examines how a company or organization manages its impact on the natural environment. It focuses on all aspects of environmental sustainability, including waste and pollution, resource depletion, carbon emissions, deforestation, climate change, and more.

Companies increasingly recognize that failing to act responsibly toward the environment will only accelerate the effects of climate change. As a result, they assess the environmental impact of their operations and implement practices such as recycling, using environmentally friendly materials, reducing wastewater, and adopting other sustainable solutions.

Social (S)

The Social pillar of ESG focuses on a company's impact on people, both within the organization and in the wider community. It considers how a company treats its employees, promotes racial, cultural, and gender diversity, supports education and professional development, provides employee health and welfare benefits, and contributes to the broader social good. Strong social responsibility helps reduce business risks while promoting sustainable and responsible business practices.

Governance (G)

The Governance pillar of ESG examines how a company is managed and held accountable for its actions. It encompasses transparency, accountability, ethical conduct, and regulatory compliance. This includes maintaining accurate and transparent accounting practices, promoting diversity in leadership, ensuring accountability to shareholders and other stakeholders, preventing illegal or unethical activities, and fostering trust through responsible governance. Strong relationships with stakeholders are fundamental to effective governance.
